He was a farmer and mechanic, reared a family of nine children, always provided well for his family, and when he passed away left quite a little estate. He and his wife lived together for fifty-seven years. He was a noble Christian man, and lived to a good old age. Noah8 Whitney (David7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of David7 and Sarah (Wilson) Whitney; born Clarendon, Vermont 1 May 1791; married in Brattleboro, 2 Dec 1813, Mercy French, born 26 Feb 1794; died 1 Oct 1871, in Phillipston, Massachusetts.
