Alloway9 Whitney (Bartholomew8, Oliver7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Bartholomew8 and Sarah (Sanford) Whitney; born Swanton, Vermont, Mar 23, 1814; married at Berkshire, Vermont, 5 Nov 1843, Lorinda Pratt, born 18 Jul 1824; died 4 Mar 1852; married 2d at Franklin, 21 Jul 1852 Elizabeth Dewing, born 16 Feb 1826.

Alloway Whitney was born in Swanton, Vermont and was a child at the time the British under Gen. Prove were defeated at Plattsburgh, New York. He was a farmer and always resided in Franklin. He owned a large amount of real estate, was educated in French and spoke it almost perfectly. He died Highgate Springs, 4 Sep 1889: resided Saint Armand, Canada.

i. Mary E.10 Whitney, born 14 Feb 1846; married 10 Nov 1868, Daniel Chamberlain. He died 25 Sep 1870; resided Baldwin, Wisconsin. She died 10 Sep 1877.
ii. Eunice Ellen Whitney, born 28 Dec 1847; m 21 Sep 1870, Hartson F. Woodard, attorney; resided Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Ch.: May Agnes, born July, 1873.
iii. Adolphus D. Whitney, born 15 Oct 1855; married Maria M. Colcord.
iv. Louisa S. Whitney, born 14 Jun 1857; married 27 Nov 1877; Sanford W. Armstrong; resided East Franklin, Vermont
Ch.: Edith, born 28 Jun 1885.
v. Elnora B. Whitney, born 27 Feb 1865; married 2 Apr 1889, Carl K. Emery; resided South Franklin, Vermont.
