Family:Whitney, Israel (1767-1842)

Israel⁶ Whitney (Jonas⁵, Jonas⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Jonas⁵ and Zebudah (Davis) Whitney, was born 16 Jan 1767, Harvard, MA,^[1] and died 12 Feb 1842, North Hero, VT.

He married 30 Mar 1788, Harvard, MA, Susannah Gary,^[2] or Susannah Gerry. She was born 10 Apr 1769, Harvard, and died 11 Feb 1848, North Hero, VT.

He was born in Harvard, Worcester County, MA; worked on his father's farm. Soon after his marriage he moved to Littleton, MA, then to Fitzwilliam, NH; and soon after a short residence in Sudbury to North Hero, VT, where he afterward resided. He resided Littleton, Massachusetts; Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, and Sudbury and North Hero, Vermont.

Ch.: Levi W., b. 1 Jul 1817, North Hero, Grand Isle County, VT; m. 12 Oct 1843; resided Pittsford, NY; Nelson, b. Aug 1818, North Hero, VT; Loren, b. Aug 1820, North Hero, VT. Loren died at Lone Rock, WI, 1863; do not know the address of any of his children. (Nelson's, Oconto, WI) There were five of the Hazen children: Harris, Harriet, Harvey, Dan, Josephus. Harris, Harriet, Josephus died in Canada; Harvey is in Dickinson, NY; Dan in Burlington, VT.

Aug. 13, 1827; m. 8 Sep 1852, Laura Ann Kinsley; resided Hiawatha, KS; Ceylon, b. 9 May 1838; m. Jul 1857, Jennette Roach; resided Rolf, IA; Ann Augusta, b. 12 Sep 1840; d. 12 Oct 1850.
