Jacob6 Whitney (Abner5, Jonas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of Abner5 and Esther (Jackson) Whitney, was born 2 May 1784, Springfield, VT, and died 30 Apr 1824, New Salem, MA.
He married, 11 Nov 1810, Lucy Adams. She was born 19 Sep 1792, and died May 1873. Marriage intentions were published 17 Oct 1827, Montague, MA, for her "Mrs." "of New Salem" and Noah Goss "of Montague".[1]
He was a farmer. He resided New Salem, MA.

Ellis, 3 Sep 1867; died 1 Jul 1877; Licia C., born 3 Aug 1855, in Ware, married George Bliss Cutler, 11 Dec 1882.
iii. Jonas Whitney, born 4 Apr 1816; died 6 Oct 1816. iv. Jonas Whitney, born 11 Dec 1817; married Mary L. Hunter and resided in Deerfield, Michigan. They were "of Montague" when their unnamed child d. 18 Jul 1843, aged 6 weeks.[2] v. John B. Whitney, born 19 Sep 1820; married Lucinda Bardwell and Katherine A. Pratt. vi. Lydia Ann Whitney, born 12 Dec 1822; married 17 Apr 1843, Rufus S. Mixter. They had one son, Frank, who died young.
