Prof. Nelson O.9 Whitney (Alexander Nelson8, Jacob7, Jacob6, Abraham5, Abraham4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Alexander Nelson8 and Elvira Augusta (Smith) Whitney, was born 3 May 1858, Aiken, SC.
He married, 12 Jun 1883, Philadelphia, PA, Mary E. Tainter. She was born 10 Sep 1858.
