John Francis⁸ Whitney (Silas⁷, Silas⁶, Daniel⁵, Richard⁴, Richard³, Richard², John¹), son of Silas⁷ and Abigail M. (Shedd) Whitney, was born 27 Feb 1819, Charlestown, MA.

He married firstly, 18 Jan 1844, Boston, MA, Julia Ann Andrews.^[1] She was born 29 Sep 1825, and died 15 Dec 1845.^[2] She was buried in Boylston, MA.

He married secondly, 7 Jul 1846, Maria Hook. She was born 25 Aug 1828, MA.

He resided Dorchester, MA, Andover, VT, Rahway, NJ, and Astoria, NY.

John Francis⁸ and Julia Ann (Andrews) Whitney apparently had no children.
