George Tyler⁸ Whitney (Ezekiel⁷, Lemuel⁶, Lemuel⁵, Lemuel⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Ezekiel⁷ and Elizabeth (-----) Whitney, was born 27 Feb 1823, Wayland, MA.

He married, 28 Jan 1849, Stow, MA, Mary Stearns Withington, daughter of Samuel and Belinda (Stearns) Withington.^[1] She was born about 15 Jul 1822, Harvard, MA, and died 26 Jul 1903, Clinton, MA, aged 81 years 11 days, of neuralgia of heart.^[2] She was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, MA.
