Family:Whitney, Noah (1791-1876)

Noah⁸ Whitney (David⁷, Silas⁶, David⁵, Benjamin⁴, Thomas³, Thomas², John¹), son of David⁷ and Sarah (Wilson) Whitney, was born 1 May 1791, Clarendon, VT, and died 20 Jan 1876, Phillipston, MA, aged 84 years 8 months 20 days, of typhoid pneumonia.^[1]

He married, 2 Dec 1813, Brattleboro, VT, Mercy French,^[2] daughter of Asa and Mercy (-----) French. She was born 26 Feb 1794, Dummerston or Brattleboro, VT, and died 1 Oct 1871, Phillipston, MA, aged 77 years 7 months 4 days, of old age.^[3]

He was born in Clarendon, VT. His father dying when he was quite young he was obliged to take care of himself when most youths were obtaining an education. He was a farmer and mechanic, reared a family of nine children, always provided well for his family, and when he passed away left quite a little estate. He and his wife lived together for fifty-seven years. He was a noble Christian man, and lived to a good old age. He resided Clarendon, VT, and Phillipston, MA.

(-----) Pike;[9] resided s. p. Phillipston, MA.
vii.	Sarah Elvira Whitney, b. 29 Aug 1830; d. 5 Dec 1872, Ashburnham, MA, aged 42 years 3 months 16 days, of spinal meningitis;[10] m. 30 Nov 1854, Noyes B. Herrick. He was b. 21 Sep 1833. Is a mechanic.
