Moses Gill6 Whitney (Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Josiah5 and Sarah (Dwelly) Whitney, was born 4 Feb 1791, Harvard, MA,[1] baptized 2 Oct 1791, Acton, MA, and died 1876.

He married Ann Shields.

He resided Bennington, VT.

Children of Moses Gill6 and Ann (Shields) Whitney:

i. Lewis7 Whitney, b. 2 Aug 1818, Whitingham, VT; "of Colrain" m. (int. -- Mar 1840, Colrain, MA) Rhoda S. Dodge "of Rowe".[2] He d. Greenfield, MA, leaving two ch. The widow and son went west and d. there. The other child was a daughter.
ii. Royal Whitney, b. -----; m. -----. He m. twice and d. Bennington, VT, leaving a daughter.
iii. Josiah Whitney, b. -----; m. Sarah Dickenson.
iv. Moses Gill Whitney, b. 30 Apr 1821; m. 28 Nov 1844, Charlotte W. Farnsworth, b. 6 Dec 1820. He d.s.p. 26 Jan 1852; resided Chicopee, MA.
