Aaron6 Whitney (Aaron5, Moses4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), born Petersham, 5 Sep 1746; married 1772. Hannah Stearnes, born 14 Nov 1748; died 1 Feb 1784; married 2d Sept. 1784, Hannah Willard; born 14 Oct 1754; died 28 Sep 1812.

He was the fourth son of Rev. Aaron Whitney, of Petersham. His first wife was dau. of Rev. David Stearnes, of Lunenburg. After his death his widow married Mar. 16, 1794, Asahel Pomeroy, of Northampton, by whom she had one child, Hannah, born 31 Jan 1795, who married Robert Edwards. Aaron was a merchant in Northfield, Massachusetts. He died Apr., 1790; resided Norhtfield, Massachusetts.

viii. David S. Whitney, born 22 Aug 1788; married Hannah H. Partridge.
ix. Hannah S. Whitney, born 27 Mar 1777; married 3 Nov 1798, Oliver Sparhawk, Esq., of Walpole. He was born in Walpole, 16 Jul 1771; died 6 Jul 1824; gr. Dartmouth College, 1793, a lawyer and for many years clerk of the court. He married his cousin, Hannah. Stearnes Whitney, who died 25 Aug 1818; married 2d his cousin, Sept. 5, 1819, Naomi Sparhawk. Ch: Marietta, born 12 Aug 1801; died unm. 4 Dec 1840; Thomas O., born ----- 16, 1803; a druggist; resided Greenfield; Julianna, born 4 Sep 1804; married Calvin Carter; resided Lapeer County, Michigan; Hannah S., born 22 Jul 1806; resided G.; unm.; William, born 12 May 1808; died 24 Jun 1834; Lucius H., born Oct. 11, 1810; died June 1813; Sarah Whitney, born 15 Sep 1812; married Thomas S. Speed; resided Bardstown, Kentucky; she died 1843; 3 ch.; Rebecca S., born 20 Oct 1814; died 14 Oct 1833; Sophia Ann, born 4 Dec 1816; died Elba, Michigan, 13 Oct 1844.
