John Whitney (John), son of John and Ellen (-----) Whitney. He was executor of his father's will. Named in the will of his wife's mother. His own, dated at Henton, in the parish of Chinnor, co. of Oxford, Dec. 20, 1575, was proved at Oxford, Mar. 10, 1575-6. Mentions his cousin, Thomas Whitney. His father bequeathed to him his part of a farm, that he held in connection with his son-in-law, John Browne. (Quere: Was this farm in Chinnor?)
He married Joan Goodchild, daughter of ----- and Johan Goodchild, of Chinnor. Named in her mother's will, dated Oct. 4, 1544; also in her husband's will.
