Arthur Barton9 Whitney (Baxter8, Chester7, Aaron6, Nathan5, Nathan4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), born Waterbury, Vermont, 30 Aug 1846; married 16 Sep 1868, Emma J. Patch, born 10 Mar 1846; died 14 Mar 1879; married 2d, 11 Sep 1881, Carrie M. Tyler, born 16 May 1858.

Until he was twenty years of age he lived with his parents on a farm in the state of Vermont. In 1866 his parents moved to Milford, Kansas, where he learned the miller's trade. In 1881 he moved with his family to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and spent the succeeding four years there and in that vicinity. He then returned to Kansas and the miller's occupation. In 1890 he moved west again, and for want of any place further west to go to, stopped in western Washington, where he now is and henceforth will be; resided Cosmopolis, Washington.
