Smith, Mass; born about 1818, Massachusetts. He died 1887; resided Clinton, New York, Racine, Wisconsin, and Chicago, Illinois. In 1850 he was listed as a saddler. In 1870, he was listed as a corn merchant.

i. Isadore9 Whitney, born circa 1838, Clinton, New York; married Charles Black; resided Racine, Wisconsin. She was a teacher and Temperance leader. She was listed on the 1850 census in Dunkirk, Dane County, Wisconsin.She contracted pneumonia while on Temperance work and died Dec 23,1905. ii. Frances M. Whitney, born 1839, Clinton, New York, died 12 Apr 1902, Rochester, New York. She married Horace Johnson. iii. Caroline Whitney, born circa 1844, Clinton, New York; lived Chicago, Illinois; married ----- Stephens. iv. Clarence S. Whitney, born 17 Jan 1850, Clinton, New York, died 15 May 1912, Kansas City, Missouri.
