He married firstly, 11 March 1863, Centreville, NY, Rhoda Rebecca Crowell, daughter of David and Phebe (Shotwell) Crowell. She was born 18 Feb 1838, Cohocton, NY, and died 29 Aug 1870, Ulster, IA. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Rockville, IA.^[2]

He married secondly, 1 Sep 1872, Ulster, IA, his first wife's cousin, Esther Crowell, daughter of Edward and Caroline (Persons) Crowell. She was born 8 June 1852, Bloomfield, WI, and died 4 Oct 1881, Rockville, IA. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Rockville, IA.^[3]

He married thirdly, after 1881, Mary J. (Halstead) Whitney, daughter of John B. and Jane (Wiltsie) Halstead. She was born 26 Apr 1857, Wyoming Co., NY, and died 27 Sep 1894, Rockford, IA.
