George Hutchinson8 Whitney (Samuel7, Levi6, Samuel5, Samuel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Samuel7 and Jane (Scholefield) Whitney, was born 7 Jun 1853, Pike, NY, and died Dec 1877. He was buried in Hope Cemetery, Perry, NY.[1]
He married, about 1876, Mary J. Halstead, daughter of John B. and Jane (Wiltsie) Halstead. She was born 26 Apr 1857, Wyoming Co., NY, and died 27 Sep 1894, Rockford, IA. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, IA,[2] also Hope Cemetery, Perry, NY.[3] She married secondly, as his third wife, George's brother Sereno Banks8 Whitney, q.v.
He was a farmer, and lived at Rushford, NY, in 1874, unmarried.
