Family:Whitney, Ira McKendree (1838-1905)
Ira McKendree9 Whitney (Ira8, [probably] Asa7, Eleazer6, Nathan5, Thomas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Ira and Mary Ann (Puffer) Whitney, was born May 1838, Readsboro, VT, and died 29 Mar 1905, Williamstown, MA, aged 66 years 10 months 8 days, of cancer of the liver.[1] He was buried in Westlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA.
He "McKendra" married firstly, 14 Jan 1861, Stamford, VT, Melissa Cook, daughter of Benjamin W. and Lucy (Corbett) Cook.[2] She was born circa 1843, Stamford, VT, and died between 1870 and 1875.
He married secondly, 20/21 May 1874, Bennington, VT, Eunice M. Pratt, both of Bennington, daughter of Zadoc and Cynthia (Green) Pratt.[3] She was born 22 Feb 1845, Pownal, VT, and died 5 Jul 1911, Williamstown, VT, aged 66 years 6 months 13 days, of congestive chill.[4]

Whitney, b. 3 Jun 1873, VT, d. 8 Jan 1958, Bennington, VT, m. 28 or 26 Oct 1896, North Adams, MA (recorded Clarksburg, MA) Eudora Maria Bishop, b. ca. 1875, Stamford, Vt., dau. of Dexter S. and Harriet M. (Greenslit) Bishop.[9] - Ch: Irene Harriet Whitney, b. 1901, d. 1939; Ira Dexter Whitney, b. 1902, d. 1997; McKendree Whitney, b. 1910, d. 1980.
