Reuben Parmenter8 Whitney (Samuel7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), born Jamaica, Vermont, 25 Apr 1806; married 2 Jun 1831, at Ware, Massachusetts, Rachel Ann Pierce, born Feb., 1801; died 7 Nov 1847; married 2d, Hannah Williams Wilson; married 3d, Mary Wallace.
He was born in Jamaica, Vermont, but early moved to Massachusetts. Soon after his marriage he moved to Sturbridge, Massachusetts, where he died. On account of continued sickness in his family he was not able to accumulate much, but he was noted for his sterling and unswerving honesty, and a character highly prized by his descendants. He died Oct. 31, 1871; resided Southbridge, Massachusetts.
