George Henry9 Whitney (Harrison Otis8, William7, Peter6, Aaron5, Moses4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), born Quincy, Massachusetts, 30 Jan 1852; married at Haverhill, 8 Jun 1876, Ida E. Lake, born 19 Oct 1852.

George Henry Whitney, born in Quincy, removed to Haverhill when about ten years old. After two years in the high school he attended for one year a commercial school in Boston, and then engaged with his father in the box business.. He was married in June, 1876, and died the following March, at the age of twentyfive, having contracted a severe cold which terminated in quick consumption. He possessed a keen thirst for knowledge, and his intellectual ambition no doubt enriched his mind at the expense of health and life. There was also a sturdy principle of truth, rectitude and integrity running through his whole nature. He was very proud of the name he bore and was an honor to it. He died 14 Mar 1877; resided Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Children of George Henry9 Whitney:
