Thomas Whitney, parentage unknown, born about 1809, Monmouthshire, Wales. He was perhaps the son of Sarah Whitney, b. ca. 1776 who was enumerated with the family in 1841.

He married Hannah -----. She was born circa 1818, Monmouthshire, Wales.

The family resided in Llanfoist, Monmouthshire, Wales in 1841 where Thomas worked as a collier (coal worker).

Children of Thomas and Hannah (-----) Whitney:

i. Mary Whitney, b. ca. 1839, Monmouthshire, Wales.
ii. Thomas Whitney, b. ca. 1840, Monmouthshire, Wales.
