Jump to navigationJump to searchTaunton was organized in 1639. In 1640, it annexed Assonet. Parts were split off as Norton in 1710, the South Precinct as Dighton in 1712, as Raynham in 1731, and as Berkley in 1735. Territory was ceded to Berkley in 1810, 1842, and 1879.
