Alloway9 Whitney (Bartholomew8, Oliver7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Bartholomew8 and Sarah (Sanford) Whitney, was born Swanton, VT, 23 Mar 1814, and died 4 Sep 1889, Highgate Springs, VT.
He married firstly, 5 Nov 1843, Berkshire, VT, Lorinda Pratt. She was born 18 Jul 1824, and died 4 Mar 1852.
He married secondly, 21 Jul 1852, Franklin, VT, Elizabeth Dewing. She was born 16 Feb 1826.
Alloway Whitney was born in Swanton, VT, and was a child at the time the British under Gen. Prove were defeated at Plattsburgh, NY. He was a farmer and always resided in Franklin. He owned a large amount of real estate, was educated in French and spoke it almost perfectly. He resided Saint Armand, QC.

Eunice Ellen Whitney, b. 28 Dec 1847; m. 21 Sep 1870, St. Albans, VT, Hartson F. Woodard, son of Orlin and M. E. (Thompson) Woodward;[2] attorney; resided Minneapolis, MN. Children: a. May Agnes Woodard, b. Jul 1873.
iii. (child) Whitney, b. ca. 1850. Listed as "infant Whitney" in 1851, probably died young.

iv. Adolphus Dewing Whitney, b. 15 Oct 1855; m. Maria M. Colcord. v. Louisa Sarah Whitney, b. 14 Jun 1857; m. 27 Nov 1877, Franklin, VT, Sanford W. Armstrong, of St. Armand, P.Q., b. 1855, St. Armand, P.Q., son of Alexander and Eliza (Allen) Armstrong;[3] resided East Franklin, VT. Children: a. Edith Armstrong, b. 28 Jun 1885.
vi. Elnora Betsey Whitney, b. 27 Feb 1865; m. 2 Apr 1889, Carl K. Emery; resided South Franklin, VT.
