Family:Whitney, Daniel (1768-b1800)
Daniel6 Whitney (Daniel5, James4, John3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Daniel5 and Miriam (Leland) Whitney,[1] was born 3 Jul 1768, Sherborn, MA,[2] and died before 15 Jul 1809, perhaps at Boston, MA. Pierce says he was lost at sea in 1800, which is plausible. He died before 11 Nov 1800, when his estate was probated.[3]
He married, before 21 Jul 1793, Dorcas White. She was born about 1769, and died 1 Apr 1798, Boston, MA, aged 29 years.
He is likely be the Daniel Whitney "of Sherburne" who married, 3 Apr 1800, Westborough, MA, Levina Ball,[4] daughter of John and Lydia (Pratt) Ball. she was born 9 Jun 1781, Westborough, MA.
He owned the covenant at the Hollis Street Church, Boston, MA, on 28 Sep 1794.[5]
His three sons were mentioned in the will of his father, 15 Jul 1809, and that of his mother, 4 Sep 1812.
Pierce says the following:
- He was lost at sea in 1800, s. p.; res. Boston, Mass.
The terms of his parents' wills show that he was not "s. p.", that is, without issue.
