Family:Whitney, Daniel J. (1809-1850)
Daniel J.7 Whitney (Daniel6, Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Daniel6 and Hannah (Shedd) Whitney, was born 11 Feb 1809, (prob. Boston,) MA, and died 10 Feb 1850, San Francisco, CA.[1]
He married, 1831, Sarah Louise Hammond. She was born 1814, and died 10 Mar 1848.

George H.8 Whitney, b. 22 Jun 1832, NY; d. 24 Apr 1879, Washington, DC, aged 44 years, of paresis, hotel keeper; m. 24 Jul 1854, St. Vincent de Paul Church, Baltimore, MD, Anna (King) Howell, widow of Elihu Howell; she d. 10 May 1878. Both are buried in New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore, MD. Child: Sarah A. Whitney; b. ca. 1856; m.(1) 30 Mar 1875, Washington, DC, George A. Kennedy; m.(2) Richard Inch. ii. Helen A. Whitney, b. 22 Jun 1834, NY; m. between 1850 and 1860, Alfred Stevens. iii. Daniel W. Whitney, b. 22 Jun 1839; apparently died young. iv. Charles H. Whitney, b. 1841; apparently died young. v. Sarah Louise Whitney, b. 31 Mar 1843, NY; d. Jun 1922; bur. Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY;[2] m. 27 May 1862, Washington, DC, William H. Ottman. vi. The identity of William Whitney is currently unknown. He may have been a Howell, possibly son of Ann's first husband, Elihu Howell.
