Family:Whitney, Daniel Thayer (1772-1857)

Daniel⁶ Whitney (James⁵, [prob.] James⁴, Eleazer³, Thomas², John¹), son of James⁵ and Mary (Thayer) Whitney, was born 26 Feb 1772, Winchester, NH,^[1] and died 29 Mar 1857, Plymouth, VT.

He married, 25 Feb 1796, Ludlow, VT, Content Stiles,^[2] daughter of Jacob and Abigail (-----) Stiles. She was born 10 Jan 1777, Keene, NH, and died 1863.

He was a cordwainer. He resided Saint Johnsbury, VT.

ii.	Betsey Whitney, b. ca. 1799; m. Harsha Nickols, and went west.

iv.	Asaph S. Whitney, b. 5 Apr 1804; m. Abigail Miller.
v.	Calvin Whitney, b. 19 Feb 1806; m. Roxana Wheelock.
vi.	Salome Whitney, b. ca. 1808; m. Handel Webster; son Addison resided Plymouth, VT.
vii.	Mary Whitney, b. ca. 1812; m. Obediah Miller; d. s. p.
viii.	Nancy Whitney, b. 1 Dec 1816; d. 29 Jan 1892; m. 27 May 1838, Plymouth, VT, James C. Merrill;[3] a son Henry resided Reading, VT.
ix.	Hiram Whitney, b. 1818; m. Arvilla Herrick.
