David Stearns⁷ Whitney (Aaron⁶, Aaron⁵, Moses⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Aaron⁶ and Hannah (Willard) Whitney, was born 22 Aug 1788, Northampton, MA, and died [bef. 6] Apr 1840, Gainesville, AL, aged 52 years.^[1]

He married, 4 Aug 1834, Hannah Huntington Partridge, daughter of Cotton and Hannah (Lyman) Partridge, and granddaughter of Rev. D. Lyman of Hatfield, MA. She was born 8 Mar 1802, Hatfield, MA, and died 18 Nov 1837, Saint Albans, VT. She married secondly, 26 May 1857, St. Albans, VT, Hon. Joseph H. Brainerd.^[2] After her death, on 8 May 1839, he married her sister Fanny Partridge, and died 1 Apr 1840, Gainesville, AL.

He resided Northampton, MA.

i.	David S.8 Whitney, b. 29 Feb 1836, Pensacola, FL; d. 1854, aged 18 years.
