Jump to navigationJump to searchEzekiel6 Whitney (Ezekiel5, Ezekiel4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), son of Ezekiel5 and Elizabeth (Knight) Whitney, was born 15 May 1758, Plainfield, CT,[1] and died 25 Apr 1835, Waterford, NY.
He married, 17 Nov 1788, Stamford, CT, 17 Nov 1788, Phebe Hoyt, of Stamford.
He was in the Revolutionary war and bore the character of an excellent pious man and was beloved, esteemed and respected by all. He resided Stamford, CT, and Waterford, NY.
Children of Ezekiel6 and Phebe (Hoyt) Whitney:
i. Sarah7 Whitney, b. 8 Mar 1783; d. 7 Mar 1872; m. 23 May 1801, Waterford, NY, Daniel Mcgiver; resided Waterford, NY. He d. 23 Feb 1827, Waterford, NY, aged 52 years. He was in the war of 1812. ii. Ezekiel Hoyt Whitney, b. Apr 16, 1788; m. Elizabeth Ostrander. iii. Phebe Whitney, b. 19 Mar 1794; d. 9 Sep 1795. iv. Lucy Whitney, b. 7 Oct 1797; d. 22 Dec 1868; m. Foster King. v. Abigail Whitney, b. 7 Oct 1797; d. 30 May 1802.

- 1800, Chester, Washington Co., NY: Ezekel Whitney, 1 male 26-44, 1 male 10-15, 1 female 26-44, 1 female 10-15, and 2 females 0-9. There is no proof that this is the same family, but the shape is consistent, he is not found elsewhere in the 1800 census, and no other family with this name for its head is known.
- 1810, Halfmoon, Saratoga Co., NY: Ezekiel Whitney, 1 male over 45, 1 male 16-25, 1 female over 45, and 1 female 10-15.
- 1820, Waterford, Saratoga Co., NY: Ezekiel Whitney, 1 male over 45 and 1 female over 45.
