James⁷ Whitney (Josiah⁶, Josiah⁵, Richard⁴, Richard³, Richard², John¹), son of Josiah⁶ and Anna (Scollay) Whitney, was born 26 Dec 1789, and died 25 Nov 1836.

He married, 7 Jun 1822, Amherst, NH, Anah Goss,^[1] daughter of Ephraim Abbott and Anah (Bathrick) Goss. She was born 29 Aug 1791, Amherst, NH, and died 11 Dec 1870, Amherst, NH.

He resided Nelson and Peterborough, NH.
