Family:Whitney, Joel B. (c1814-1885)

Rev. Joel B.⁹ Whitney (Joel⁸, Bartholomew⁷, Silas⁶, David⁵, Benjamin⁴, Thomas³, Thomas², John¹), son of Joel⁸ and Lucy Willard (Sheldon) Whitney, was born about 1814, Shelburne, VT and died 4 Oct 1885, VT.

He married firstly, 20 Nov 1837, Sheldon, VT, Mary Ann Morrow.^[1] She was born about 19 Dec 1814, and died 22 May 1874, aged 59 years 5 months 3 days. She was buried in East Sheldon Cemetery, East Sheldon, VT.^[2].

He married secondly, 30 Nov 1876, Readsboro, VT, Olive P. (Carpenter) Leonard, daughter of D. B. and Lucy (-----) Carpenter.^[3] She was born about 1827, VT, and died after 1880.

ii.	Lester Albert Whitney, b. ca. 1839, VT (but 2 Feb 1842 per death record); m. Isabelle Dickenson.
iii.	(prob. adopted) Bartholomew Bliss Whitney, b. 5 Jun 1850, Sheldon, VT; m. Rosie E. Berry.

Joel B.⁹ and Olive P. (Carpenter) Whitney had no known children.
