John Andrew⁹ Whitney (John Martyn⁸, William⁷, Peter⁶, Aaron⁵, Moses⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of John Martyn⁸ and Susan Maria (Campbell) Whitney, was born 9 Sep 1842, Tolland, CT, and died after 1880.

He married, 26 Dec 1867, Georgiana Standish Bogue, daughter of George W. and Sarah (Kelsey) Bogue. She was born 1 Oct 1846, Milford, CT, and died after 1900. They must have been divorced, since he is listed as single in 1900, and she had remarried. She married secondly, 15 May 1900, Boston, MA, Alexander M. Hall, b. ca. 1858, New Fairfield, CT, son of Alexander and Sarah E. (Bradley) Hall.^[1]

He resided New Haven, CT.
