Family:Whitney, Jonathan (1704-1755)

Jonathan⁴ Whitney (Jonathan³, Benjamin², John¹), son of Jonathan³ and Susannah (Fairbanks) Whitney, was born 7 Oct 1704, Sherborn, MA,^[1] and died 28 Jan 1755, Milford, MA, in his 51st year.^[2].

He married, 26 Jan 1726/7, Mendon, MA, Lydia Jones,^[3] daughter of Elder John and Sarah (Lobdell) Jones. She was born 17 Sep 1705, Mendon, MA, and died 4 May 1783, Milford, MA, aged 77 years.^[4]

He lived at Hopkinton, Holliston, Mendon, Medway, and Milford, MA.

He was a Captain in the French and Indian War, 1748.

Administration on his estate was granted to Isaac Whitney.

Pierce says the following:^[5]

He owned lands in Hopkinton, Holliston, and Mendon. He was a prominent citizen and influential member of the church, and assisted in establishing the town of Milford. He settled the estates of his father and father-in-law. After his death his estate was divided among his heirs, he dying intestate.
