Joseph Whitney ([perhaps] Elijah, [probably] Francis, [perhaps] Joshua³, David², Samuel¹), parentage unknown but perhaps son of Elijah and Obedience (-----) Whitney, , was born say 1790?, perhaps NC, and died sometime before 1830.

He married, 19 Sep 1813 in Christian Co., KY, Rebecca Poe. She was born either 1791 or circa 1795, NC, and died after 1860, probably MO.
