Seth Whitney (Elijah) apparently son of Elijah and Hannah (-----) Whitney, was born circa 1762, and died after 1840.

He married ----- -----.

Seth Whitney settled [in New Delhi, NY] in 1796 on the Hobbie place, near Hoag's residence, up the river.[1]

In 1798, Daniel Place was listed as occupant of property adjoining Seth Whitney in Delhi, NY.[2]

He was listed on the 1799 tax list in Delhi, NY.[3]

Seth, NY Line, S23068, sol was b 27 Sep 1759 at Danbury CT & he lived at Frederickstown in Dutchess Co NY during the Rev & afterwards moved to Stephentown in Westchester Co NY & in 1797 he moved to Middletown the part that became Delhi in Delaware Co NY & he lived there when he appl 19 Jun 1833.[4]

Chap. CXXXVII. In Act granting a pension to Seth Whitney, of Delaware County, New York.
Be it enacted, &c., That the Secretary of War be required to place the name of Seth Whitney, of the town of Delhi, in the county of Delaware and state of New York, upon the roll of revolutionary pensions, and pay him twenty-six dollars and sixty-seven cents per annum during life, to commence and take effect from and after the fourth of March, eighteen hundred and thirty-one.
Approved, June 28, 1838.[5]
