Family:Whitney, Silas Gore (1800-1854)

Silas Gore8 Whitney (Silas7, Silas6, Daniel5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Silas7 and Abigail M. (Shedd) Whitney, was born 9 Aug 1800, Charlestown or Boston, MA, and died 15 Jul 1854, Boston, MA, aged 43 years 11 months, of inflammation of lungs.[1]

He married, 7 Oct 1835, Boston, MA, Sarah Susan Penniman,[2] daughter of Thomas Penniman. She was born about 1812, or about Mar 1805, Braintree, MA, and died 15 Feb 1900, Somerville, MA, aged 94 years 10 months, of senility.[3] She was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Dorchester, MA.

Silas Gore was the Venezuelan consul at Boston for several years; also vice-consul at Puerto Cabelo, Venezuela, South America. He resided Boston, MA.

iii. Sarah Virginia Whitney, b. ca. 1840, Venezuela; d. 2 Dec 1899, Boston, MA, aged 57 years 4 months 17 days, of organic brain disease; m.(1) 28 Jul 1859, Boston, MA, Abraham Holland, son of Thomas Henry and Ruth (Cram) Holland, b. ca. 1840, Boston, MA;[5] m.(2) Forest G. Hawes.[6]
iv. Jose Antonio Paez Whitney, b. ca. 1843, Boston, MA; Emma D. Bills.
iv. Georgiana, b. ; d. 19 Jan 1850, Boston, MA, aged 4 years 9 months, of putrid sore throat.[7]
