Walter Henry Knox8 Whitney (John7, James6, Richard5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of John7 and Rosella (Childs) Whitney, was born 6 Mar 1845, Lancaster, MA,[1] and died between 1870 and 1873.

He "of Fitchburg" married, 16 Jul 1867, Sterling, MA, Emily Jane Headley/Hadley of Sterling, daughter of Eli and Mary Jane (Roper) Headley/Hadley.[2] She was born 7 Aug 1848, West Boylston, MA, and died after 1880. She married secondly, 8 May 1873, Worcester, MA, James Odie, as his second wife.[3]

ii. Gertrude Rosella Whitney, b. 8 Jul 1869, Fitchburg, MA;[6] m. 2 Jun 1898, Worceser, MA, Charles Arthur Kilton, b. ca. 1871, Providence, RI, son of Winfield S. and Katie J. (Aldrich) Kilton.[7]
iii. Maud M. Whitney, b. 1 Feb 1872, Worcester, MA;[8] d. 1 Oct 1872, Clinton, MA, aged 6 months 18 days, of cholera infection,[9] or 1 Sep 1872, Worcestr, MA, aged 7 months, of cholera infantum.[10]

Notes

His wife is called "Emma Bigelow" in the birth record of daughter Maud.
