He married, 24 Dec 1869, Muskegon, MI, Melissa "Mittie" D. Rowe, both of Hopkins, MI,[2] daughter of Gilbert and Margaret (Van Tassell) Rowe. She was born about Jul 1850, Warren Co., PA.
He was a soldier in the war of 1861; resided Bradley, MI.
Charles Edgar9 and Melissa "Mittie" D. (Rowe) Whitney had no children. They adopted:
