Eleazer Smith⁸ Whitney (Thomas Mott⁷, Samuel⁶, Samuel⁵, Abraham⁴, Joseph³, John², Henry¹), son of Thomas Mott⁷ and Mary Buchanan (King) Whitney, was born 30 Mar 1835, North East Harbor, NS, and 6 Jul 1909, North East Harbour, NS.

He married, 1863, Round Bay, NS, Elizabeth Ann Hagar, daughter of James and Sophia Jane (Denstead) Hagar. She was born 27 Dec 1841, Round Bay, NS, and died 19 Feb 1914.

He was a mariner. They settled at North East Harbor, and were living there in 1874.
