Elias Bemis8 Whitney (Edward Winslow7, Samuel Winslow6, Ephraim5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Edward Winslow7 and Lavinia Bruce (Bemis) Whitney, was born 2 Dec 1821, Bangor, NY,[1] and died 4 Mar 1904, Boston, MA, aged 82 years 2 months 1 day, of chronic interstitial nephritis.[2]

He married firstly, 12 Jul 1847, Danbury, CT, or Ridgebury, CT, Catharine Crafts.[3] She died Jun 1860.

He married secondly, 1 Jun 1861, Brookfield, NH, or 13 Jun 1861, Boston, MA, Rhoda S. Burleigh, daughter of Jonathan V. and Rhoda (-----) Burleigh.[4] She was born Dec 1841, Brookfield, NH, and died after 1900.

He is a furrier at 16 Milk St.; resided Boston, MA; 24 Appleton St.

In 1864, he was a mariner. In 1862-1867 he was a furrier living at 19 Revere St., Boston, MA. In 1874-1877 he was a furrier living at 4 Dartmouth Place, Boston, MA. In 1904 he was a furrier living at 24 Appleton St., Boston, MA.
