George Huyler7 Whitney (Ira6, Hezekiah5, Hezekiah4, Joseph3, John2, Henry1), son of Ira6 and Judith (Flood) Whitney, was born 18 Aug 1809, Essex, VT, and died 16 Mar 1867, Jamestown, MI, where he was buried.

He married, 20 Jan 1841, or 29 Jan 1840, St. Albans, VT, Ursula Hawkins,[1] daughter of John and Mercy (Drown) Hawkins of "Plattsburg, VT". She was born St. Albans, VT, and died after Aug 1874.

Phoenix says the following:

"... a farmer .... They dwelt at St. Albans till they had two children; lived, for a few months, in Swanton, Vt.; settled in Fairfield, Vt., in 1844; moved, about 1855, to Middlebury, Vt., and thence, in 1864, to Jamestown, Mich. .... She was still living at Jamestown, in Aug. 1874. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church."

i. Eliza Ann8 Whitney, b. 10 Dec 1841, St. Albans, VT; d. 17 Sep 1842, St. Albans, VT, where she was buried.
ii. George Henry Whitney, b. 14 Sep 1843, St. Albans, VT; killed 10 Oct 1844, Fairfield, VT, accidentally, in a sawmill; buried at Fairfield, VT.
iii. Albert Bogue Whitney, b. 21 Jan 1844, Swanton, VT; m. Hannah Mary Arnold.
iv. Helen Eliza Whitney, b. 27 Oct 1845, Fairfield, VT; m. 28 Sep 1867, Grand Rapids, MI, Samuel William Rust, a farmer, who was born 13 Mar 1827, Woodcock, PA, son of John and Barbary (Camp) Rust. He enlisted at Grand Rapids, 28 Sept 1861, in Company C, 2d Regiment, Michigan Volunteer Cavalry; and was discharged 17 Aug 1865. They lived at Jamestown, MI, in 1874.
v. Eliza Ann Whitney, b. 17 Dec 1847, Fairfield, VT; m. 6 May 1865, Rutland, VT, Lodner Henry Hood, a carpenter, of Chelsea, VT. He was born 29 Dec 1843, Washington, VT, son of Amos and Betsey (Hibbard) Hood. They settled at Jamestown, MI, and were living there in 1874.
vi. Oscar Wallace Whitney, b. 25 Mar 1850, Fairfield, VT; m. Amy Jackson.
vii. George Edgar Whitney, b. 27 Mar 1852, Fairfield, VT; d. 20 Feb 1854, Fairfield, VT, of scarlet fever, and was buried at Fairfield, VT.
viii. Larkin Wilcox Whitney, b. 20 Jan 1854, Fairfield, VT; m. Alice Janette Bruce.
ix. Edgar Whitney, b. 27 Apr 1856, Middlebury, VT; m. Mary Elizabeth Clark.
x. George Huyler Whitney, b. 13 Jul 1859, Middlebury, VT (given name omitted);[2] m. Alma Vesta Cousins.
