George Otis8 Whitney (Dwelly7, Lemuel6, Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Dwelly7 and Emily (Derby) Whitney, was born 10 Mar 1833, Ashburnham, MA,[1] and died 2 May 1872, Winchendon, MA, aged 29 years 1 month 22 days, of concussion by accident followed by disease of liver and right lung.[2]

He married, 25 May 1858, Fitchburg, MA, Caroline Emma Willard, daughter of George A. and Elvira (Hunt) Willard.[3] She was born 2 Sep 1837, New Ipswich, NH, and died 19 Nov 1912, Charlestown, NH. She married secondly 29 Dec 1881, Charlestown, NH, George W. Milliken,[4] of Charlestown, NH.

Mr. Whitney served in the civil war in the Fourth Massachusetts Heavy Artillery.

He died in Winchendon, MA; resided Pawtucket, RI.
