Jared Irving8 Whitney (Benjamin7, Benjamin6, Jonas5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Benjamin7 and Elmira (Stimpson) Whitney, was born 1 Aug 1833,[1] Marlborough, NH,[2] and died 24 Jan 1898, Somerville, MA [also recorded Leominster, MA], aged 64 years 5 months 23 days, of organic heart and chronic asthma.[3]

He married, 19 Jan 1858, Marlborough, NH, Sarah Jane Kidder,[4] daughter of James and Lucy (Pushee) Kidder. She was born 10 May 1834,[5] Westford, MA, and died 28 Apr 1899, Somerville, MA, aged 66 years 11 months, of consumption. or of cancer of the liver.[6] She was buried in Leominster, MA.

He was brought up on a farm and worked at that until he was 21. Then in company with his brother-in-law was in the chair business for a number of years, and later worked at the wood-working business, and most of the time since; resided Leominster, MA, and Clinton, MA, 269 Main St.

(-----) Flagg;[9] resided Leominster; is a carpenter; divorced; m.(2) 10 Aug 1899, Cambridge, MA [also recorded in Somerville, MA], Frank Sumner Nettleton, b. ca. 1856, Lowell, MA, son of Frederick S. and Gratia M. (Munn) Nettleton;[10] m.(3) 19 May 1910, Lynn, MA [also recorded Leominster, MA], James M. Doloff [or James W. Dalloff], b. ca. 1856, Lawrence, MA, son of David C. and Affie (Cummings) Doloff/Dallaff.[11] Children:
a. Mable Frances Flagg, b. 27 Mar 1889.
ii. Arthur Eugene Whitney, b. 9 Sep 1868, Marlborough, NH;[12] d. 8 Jun 1869, Marlborough, NH, aged 9 months of whooping cough.[13]
