John Densmore8 Whitney (Philbrook7, Jabez6, Jacob5, Jonas4, Eleazar3, Thomas2, John1), son of Philbrook7 and Sarah A. (Green) Whitney, was born 6 Dec 1844, New Salem, MA,[1] and died 17 Mar 1906, Danvers Insane Hospital, Danvers, MA, aged 61 years, of general paralysis of the insane.[2]. He was buried in Edson Cemetery, Lowell, MA.

He married, 8 May 1874, Lowell, MA, Emma I. Day, dau. of Robert and Nancy (-----) Day.[3] She was born about 1853, Gloucester, MA. She m.(2) 5 Oct 1908, Lowell, MA, Edward D. Charlton, son of Edward C. and Esther (Moore) Charlton, born about 1859, NS.[4]

They resided Lowell, MA, fish dealer. Children:

i. John D.9 Whitney, b. ca. Sep 1877, Lowell, MA; d. 19 Aug 1888, Lowell, MA, aged 10 years 11 months, of diphtheria.[5]
ii. Ernest D. Whitney, b. 7 Aug 1889, Lowell, MA;[6] d. 14 Sep 1889, Lowell, MA, aged 1 month 10 days, of brain disease.[7]
