Marshall S.8 Whitney (William7, William6, Abner5, John4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of William7 and Anna (Hancock) Whitney, was born 29 Jul 1828, Standish, ME, and died 31 Jan 1916, Byron, ME.
He married, 6 Aug 1859, York Co., ME, Susan H. Libby "both of Biddeford",[1] daughter of Phineas Prentiss and Susannah (Hancock) Libby. They were divorced before 1910. She was born 25 Jun 1841, Buxton or Shapleigh/Acton, ME, and died 2 Sep 1929.
He moved from Sebago to Upton, ME, where they lived until 1890, when they moved to Byron, ME, where he prospected for gold [in the Swift River].
