Abram Johnson9 Whitney (James Lewis8, Abraham Johnson7, James6, Samuel5, Samuel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of James Lewis8 and Maria (Eldred) Whitney, was born 4 Aug 1842, Caton, NY, and died after 1880.
He married, 10 Aug 1862, Elmira, NY, Almira Elizabeth Broakman, daughter of Rev. Samuel Moyer and Judith Jennings (Inscho) Broakman, of Elmira, NY. She was born 12 May 1846, Tioga, PA, and died after 1880.
He resided Caton, NY.
Phoenix says the following:
- "Abram Johnson Whitney, b. at Caton, N. Y., 4 Aug. 1842; a farmer; married at Elmira, N. Y., 10 Aug. 1862, by her father, a Baptist minister, to Almira Elizabeth Broakman, dau. of Rev. Samuel Moyer and Judith Jennings (Inscho) Broakman, of the same place. She was born at Tioga, Penn., 12 May 1846. They settled at Caton, and (except one year, 1866, passed at St. Joseph, Mich.) continued to reside there till their report, in Jan. 1876."
