Joseph8 Whitney (Josiah7, Josiah6, Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Josiah7 and Sarah (Emes) Whitney, was born 25 Mar 1811, Nelson or Packersfield, NH,[1] and died 21 Jan 1879, Keene, NH, aged 67 years 10 months 23 days.[2]

He married, 23 Feb 1841, Nashua, NH, Mary Abbott Newcomb.[3] She was born 27 Jan 1820, and died 13 Sep 1875, Keene, NH, aged 55 years 7 months 17 days.[4]

He was born at Nelson, NH; is a farmer; has been superintendent of schools, town clerk and selectman; resided Sullivan, NH.
