Abijah5 Whitney (Daniel4, Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Daniel4 and Thankful (Burt) Whitney, was born 10 or 11 Jul 1754, Warwick, NY, and died 24 May 1802, Warwick, NY.
He married 7 Aug 1777, Warwick, NY, Elizabeth Ellsworth, daughter of William and Sarah (Brower) Ellsworth. She was born 4 Jul 1761, Brooklyn, NY, and died 27 Feb 1829, New York, NY.
Phoenix says the following:
- Abijah Whitney, b. in Warwick, Orange Co., N.Y., 10 or 11 July 1754; a weaver and farmer; married, 7 Aug. 1777, in Warwick, Elizabeth Ellsworth, born in Brooklyn, N.Y., 4 July 1761, dau. of William and Sarah (Brower) Ellsworth. They settled in Warwick, where he was a deacon. He died in Warwick, 24 May 1802, and was buried there. She died, 27 Feb. 1829, in New York City, and was buried there, in a vault.

i. Daniel6 Whitney, b. 20 May 1778, Warwick, NY; m. Lydia Newbury. ii. John Whitney, b. 20 Jan 1780, Warwick, NY; m. Susanna Smith. iii. Jeremiah Whitney, b. 18 Mar 1782, Warwick, NY; m. Rachel King; a weaver, lived in Rochester, NY. They were buried, it is thought, in Mount Hope Cemetery. iv. Mary Whitney, b. 10 Feb 1784, Warwick, NY; m. Nicholas Van Brunt; settled in Orange Co., NY, where they had several children; and moved to Michigan, not long after 1825. v. Charity Whitney, b. 24 Jun 1786, Warwick, NY; m. Jesse Randall. vi. Joel Whitney, b. 29 Nov 1788, Warwick, NY; m. Mary Ann Jennings. vii. Sarah Whitney, b. 17 Jan 1791, Warwick, NY; m.(1) John Ross; m.(2) Amos Dickinson. They moved to Michigan. viii. Abigail Whitney, b. 10 Jun 1793, Warwick, NY; m. ----- Donelly. ix. Morris Fought Whitney, b. 26 Oct 1796, Warwick, NY; m.(1) Bridget Jennings; m.(2) Keziah Jennings; m.(3) Annice Nichols. x. James B. Whitney, b. 15 Dec 1798, Warwick, NY; m. Elizabeth Luckey. xi. Abijah Ann Whitney, b. 3 Dec 1802, Florida, NY; m. Silas Aldridge Williams.
