He was born in Jamaica, Vermont, but early moved to Massachusetts. Soon after his marriage he moved to Sturbridge, Massachusetts, where he died. On account of continued sickness in his family he was not able to accumulate much, but he was noted for his sterling and unswerving honesty, and a character highly prized by his descendants. He died Oct. 31, 1871; resided Southbridge, Massachusetts.
