Joseph8 Whitney (Josiah7, Josiah6, Josiah5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Josiah7 and Sarah (Emes) Whitney, was born 25 Mar 1811, Nelson, NH, and died 21 Jan 1879, Keene, NH, aged 67 years 10 months 23 days.[1]

He married, 23 Feb 1841, Mary Abbott Newcomb. She was born 27 Jan 1820, and died 13 Sep 1875, Keene, NH, aged 55 years 7 months 17 days.[2]

He was born at Nelson, NH; is a farmer; has been superintendent of schools, town clerk and selectman; resided Sullivan, NH.
