George Fenn8 Whitney (George7, Silas6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), born Stockbridge, Massachusetts, 29 Feb 1820; married there, 23 Apr 1845, Mary E. Lynch, dau. of Dea. Reuben Lynch; born 22 Sep 1825.
He was born on the old place in Stockbridge. At the early age of six his father died and he resided with his uncle William until his marriage in 1845. He has been a very quiet home body, temperate, industrious and highly esteemed. His death was quite sudden. He was a member of the Congregational church for thirty-five years. He died 14 Oct 1893; resided Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

i. Mary Ives9 Whitney, born 13 Apr 1848; married 14 Oct 1873, Henry C. Byington; resided Stock. He was born 16 Feb 1837; is a farmer. - Ch.: Lucy Mamre, born 7 Aug 1875; Grace Whitney, born 18 Feb 1878; Alice, born 2 Nov 1880.
ii. Sarah Hosford Whitney, born 4 Mar 1854; married 23 Apr 1879, Byron Stedman; resided Hudson, New York. He was born at Lee, Massachusetts, Nov. 13, 1851; is a druggist. - Ch.: Grace, born 5 Apr 1881; Mabel, born 7 Mar 1884; Edith, born 23 Apr 1886; Louise, born 30 Mar 1890.
iii. George Herbert Whitney, born 19 Aug 1863; married Martha McGiffert. iv. Pamela Fenn Whitney, born 1 May 1861, resided Stock. v. Charles William Whitney, born 6 Nov 1865; married Minnie E. Hayes.
