Henry Martyn⁸ Whitney (Paul⁷, Paul⁶, Aaron⁵, Moses⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Paul⁷ and Lucy Cushing (Stone) Whitney; born Boston, Massachusetts, 25 Jun 1826; married 28 Oct 1850, Emma Jane Merrill of Canandaigua, New York, born 9 Jul 1831. He died 1 Jan 1890; resided San Francisco, California and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Children of Henry Martyn⁸ and Emma Jane (Merrill) Whitney:

i.	Lucy Cushing9 Whitney, born 31 Jul 1851; married 8 Jun 1880, Charles H. Lee; resided 48 E. 64th St., New York City.
ii.	Elliot Phillips Whitney, born 10 Jun 1853; married 27 Apr 1891. Helen Graves. He died s.p. Jacksonville, Florida, 27 May 1892.
iii.	Emery Stone Whitney, born 14 Jul 1855; married Elizabeth Seaver McLeod.
iv.	Henry Marion Whitney, born 1 Jan 1857; died 7 Oct 1859.
v.	Maud Marion Whitney, born 3 Sep 1859; resided Scranton, Pennsylvania.
