Aaron6 Whitney (Aaron5, Moses4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Aaron5 and Alice (Baker) Whitney, was born 5 Sep 1746 Petersham, MA, or Littleton, MA,[1] and died 29 Apr 1790, Northfield, MA.

Marriage intentions were published 7 May 1772, Petersham, MA, for him "of Northfield" and Hannah Stearns.[2] He married firstly, 23 Sep 1772, Hannah Stearns, daughter of Rev. David and Ruth (Hubbard) Stearns. She was born 14 Nov 1748, Lunenburg, MA, and died 1 Feb 1784, Northfield, MA, aged 35 years.

He married secondly, 23 Sep 1784, Winchester, NH, Hannah Willard,[3] daughter of Josiah and Hannah (Hubbard) Willard. She was born 14 Oct 1754, Winchester, NH, and died 28 Sep 1812. Marriage intentions were published 1 Mar 1794, Northampton, MA, for her "Mrs." "of Winchester" and Asahel Pomeroy "of Northampton".[4] She married secondly, 16 Mar 1794, Winchester, NH, Asahel Pomeroy[5] of Northampton, MA.

He was the fourth son of Rev. Aaron Whitney, of Petersham, MA. His first wife was daughter of Rev. David Stearns, of Lunenburg, MA. After his death his widow married 16 Mar 1794, Asahel Pomeroy, of Northampton, MA, by whom she had one child, Hannah, born 31 Jan 1795, who married Robert Edwards. Aaron was a merchant in Northfield, MA. He resided Northfield, MA.

Dartmouth College, 1793, a lawyer and for many years clerk of the court. He m.(1) his cousin, Hannah Stearns Whitney, who d. 25 Aug 1818; m.(2) his cousin, 5 Sep 1819, Naomi Sparhawk. Children:

Notes

Children vii and viii above may be identical. The birth of the second Susanna is not in Northfield vital records, nor have I found a reliable record of the death of the first. The two Susannas are left this way because Temple and Sheldon's A History of the Town of Northfield, Massachusetts give them thus.
